Scholarships Awarded

VR Engine Room Scholarship Recipients

When Oklahoma State University established its esports program in 2018, its hope was to one day be able provide scholarships to esports athletes who were actively involved in the gaming community and to further support career opportunities in the industry.

Flash forward a few years and OSU is proud to honor five additional scholarship recipients in 2025 following an inaugural disbursement of five scholarships in 2024. These scholarships were made possible through a sponsorship by Engine Room VR.

This year’s five 2025 Engine Room VR Esports Scholarship recipients include Brett Bozarth a senior pursuing a bachelor’s in management information systems as well as a master’s degree; Grayson Campbell, a senior mechanical engineering student; Caden Henderson, a senior studying biochemistry and molecular biology; sophomore Corieon Lewis who is studying computer science and Curtis McCormick, an electrical engineering junior.

Engine Room VR hopes its investment in the OSU esports program will further the growth of esports on both the recreational and academic side of the Stillwater campus.

“Engine Room VR believes in the Olympic mission to bolster esports and the future of sport itself and is proud to support our local esports athletes who are creating the future of competition and entertainment," said Ben Wagman, Operations Manager.

Engine Room VR, a Tulsa-based tech company, is the creator of Golden Gloves VR. The company developed GGVR in consultation with professional and amateur boxer and coaches to provide a realistic, immersive and progressive boxing experience where players can train and compete in a variety of virtual settings. Most recently GGVR was used by USA Boxing to prep for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Since its inception in 2018, the OSU esports community has continued to grow and expand. The additions of the nearly 2,000-square-foot OSU Esports Arena in the Student Union, the OSU Esports competitive team and Gaming Leadership certificate program demonstrate the commitment and dedication to developing OSU esports as a leader in this rapidly growing field.
