Esports and video games are fun, they bring people together, and they are taken seriously at many college campuses across the nation. The Oklahoma State University Esports Excellence Fund's goal is to promote, grow, and enhance the Esports presence on the Stillwater campus. Esports and video games are a staple in the lives of many prospective, incoming, and current students.

Why Support Esports?

Esports and video games are fun, they bring people together, and they are taken seriously at many college campuses across the nation.

The Oklahoma State University Esports Excellence Fund's goal is to promote, grow, and enhance the Esports presence on the Stillwater campus.  Esports and video games are a staple in the lives of many prospective, incoming, and current students.  For example, the largest recognized student group on campus is the Gamers of OSU. There is an Esports Arena housed in the Student Union.  The industry surrounding video games and Esports are presently studied and taught on campus.  Employers are looking for graduates with the same skills that video games develop in students.  Whether OSU students game via PC, console, or mobile device, an estimated 8 out of 10 students game in some form or fashion.  Esports are at OSU and Esports belong at OSU. 

However, decision makers often underestimate their potential impact and money is the scarce resource on any college campus.  We want to demonstrate the practical, educational and financial viability of Esports on a college campus.  In order to accomplish this, we need your help.  Your financial support will go towards providing:

  • Scholarships for Students
  • Keeping the Arena Technologically Relevant
  • Tournament/Event Creation and Execution
  • Supporting Esports Academic Course Initiatives

 

Your gift matters, no matter the size.  Financial provision not only promotes the growth of gaming and Esports on campus, but it demonstrates the passion of the gaming culture.  Join us in making OSU the premier Esports college in the Big XII.
